Buy fresh fish in Guardamar del Segura

26 August 2019

Today most people buy fish in supermarkets or fishmongers. Sometimes we don't always have the fresh fish we would like to eat and we find it difficult to be able to maintain healthy eating habits.

If you live or you are on holiday in south of Costa Blanca, Spain come to Guardamar, a town located next to the river mouth of the Segura River, for centuries its main activity has been agriculture and fishing, until the appearance of tourism in the 60s.

As in many coastal places in Spain, you have the possibility to enjoy the fresh fish that is caught every day.

We highly recommend you to go to the Fish Market of Guardamar, located in the Marina Dunas. The fish is auctioned from Monday to Friday, at 10 in the morning and is open to the final consumer.

How can you buy fresh fish in Guardamar?

The traditional auction method consists of the following: the auctioneer offers a maximum price, which goes down little by little until the interested party raises his hand and makes the purchase at that price. Most of the trays that are auctioned are 1 kg, making it affordable for families and users.

The fish of Guardamar is fresh and of the highest quality, landed and auctioned daily in the fish market. The main catches are gilthead seabream, turbot, sole, mullets, cuttlefish, galleys and prawns (from March to August).

We leave the address for you to go. It is an experience that you should not miss!
