How to find cheap properties in Costa Blanca, Spain

Are you looking to buy a cheap property in Spain? Don't look any further, Naranja Spain a real estate in Costa Blanca has the right advice in finding a property bargain.

You probably already know Costa Blanca south or at least you have heard about Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa; La Zenia, Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca… It's a popular area among expats and Scandinavians specially. Why? Thanks to its vast amount of sunny days, Spanish culture, gastronomy and slow living.

If you have decided to buy a property in Spain, don't be content buying at the market price, because getting a bargain in Costa Blanca is possible.

Getting a bargain in Costa Blanca is all about searching all the time because cheap properties come and go within days. When a homeowner puts a bargain price on their house, he or she wants to sell quickly, most probably because money is needed. The house won't stay listed for more than a week, I guarantee you that, so you have to be fast. But how do I keep on the bargain loop? You might ask, well you have two options here:

Option A: Search on the main real estate portals.

The property owner and the real estate company managing the sale are going to market the bargain online. So the real estate portals are your main searching tool. You have to check them every week (at least) if you want to find your cheap dream home. But be efficient by searching on the right real estate portals. We recommend you looking in:

  • Foto Casa and Idealista, these are the top two real estate Spanish portals.
  • Solvia: properties owned by Banco Sabadell, low market price guaranteed.
  • Right Move and A place in the Sun: portals mainly checked by UK citizens.
  • Kyero: An international portal selling quality houses.

We highly advice you to create an account on each of these and then activate an alert so you'll receive an email when a property with your requirements that you previously set such as; price, number of rooms or area for example has been listed. This way you won't miss any. And also look for the listing date; if the price looks like a bargain but has been listed for more than a couple of weeks; it is not a bargain. I'm sure there is something not right.

Option B: Work with a real estate agency

Real estate agents tend to be the first ones to know when a bargain is placed. We highly recommend you find a local real estate agency specialised on an specific area, because if you work with an agency that sells properties on a large region, it will be less likely they will control the current property bargains.

Also is important if possible that you have a face to face good relation with you agent, because this way once they know what type of property bargain you are looking for, they will immediately let you know when something comes up even before the property gets listed.

We are Naranja Spain, a real estate agency located in Guardamar del Segura; a town by the beach in south Alicante. We sell new and second hand apartments, villas, bungalows and country houses. We don't sell properties that are over the market price for their kind because we believe in selling properties at the right market price. We do have cheap properties for sale that you could check on our catalog but we recommend you get in touch, have a conversation with us and we will make your dream come true.
